FAQ's

Our tableware is handcrafted in Japan by a select group of factories who continue to work using traditional, artisanal ceramic techniques, methods that have been refined over generations. Every piece is shaped, glazed and double-fired in the kiln, a process that gives our tableware its distinctive quality and durability.

We work closely with the same trusted partners over the long term, building relationships based on mutual respect rather than one-off sourcing. Our on-site colleagues in Japan collaborate directly with our design team in the Netherlands, which is where the Tokyo Design Studio identity really comes through: authentic Japanese craftsmanship shaped by a contemporary, European design perspective.

The one exception is our chopsticks, which are made in China. Everything else across our tableware collections is produced in Japan.
